Transit visa:

Transit visa is granted for the sole purpose of enabling the visa holder to travel through India to reach his/her ultimate destination. Change of purpose is not allowed.

Validity:

Transit Visa is valid for single journey or two journeys. It would be valid for entry within 15 days from date of issue specified by Indian Mission.

Duration of stay during each visit by foreign nationals passing through India should not exceed 3 days.

The applicant should possess confirmed ticket to his destination beyond India.

Entry Points:

Passengers having valid Transit visa can enter India from any desired port of immigration check post (Airport, Seaport).

Fee:

Visa fees for Transit visa is C$25+C$4. Additional  service charge of BLS may be applicable.

Form:

The visitors are required to fill online visa Application by visiting website http://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/  and submit the printout of the online filled application and required travel documents to the nearest Visa Application Centre.

Required Documents:

• Passport with 6 month validity
• Passport size photographs
• Photo copy of passport
• Copy of online Filled form
• Confirm air ticket for onward journey
• Valid visa for final destination

Processing Time

It usually requires 7 business days to grant Transit Visa, excluding the time taken in postal transmission.

Applicants having Non-Canadian Passports

Normally, persons seeking Transit Visa must apply to the High Commission of India in their native country. However, if you have been living in Canada on a long term visa or work permit or Permanent Resident card; and have been staying in Canada for over 2 years, your application for Transit Visa can be considered. The fee and the processing time can be significantly different than those applicable for Canadian Passport holders. Please consult our outsourcing agents, BLS International for details. Applicants having Pakistani Passport or persons of Pakistani origin
