1.   India and Canada held the 4th round of India-Canada Nuclear Cooperation Agreement Joint Committee Meeting in Ottawa today as a follow up to the visit of Prime Minister of India to in Canada in April 2015. The Indian delegation was led by Mr. Pranay Kumar Verma, Joint Secretary, Department of Atomic Energy and the Canadian side was led by Ms. Heidi Hulan, Director General, Non-Proliferation and Threat Reduction Bureau, Government of Canada. Acting High Commissioner of India, Mr. Arun Kumar Sahu, also attended the Meeting.

2.   During the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Canada in April 2015, he had underscored the potential for mutually-beneficial civil nuclear cooperation. Leaders of both India and Canada had also welcomed the signing of an Agreement between the Department of Atomic Energy of the Government of India and Cameco of Canada for long-term supply of uranium to India to meets ints energy needs.
