Jannat Performing Arts, Ottawa organised a spectacular event in Ottawa on July 29, 2017. It was their second dance production since their creation in 2011 and was titled “Insight: A Reflective Experience”. The first half of the program explored the evolution of Indian dance while the second half highlighted various social issues through the medium of dance. The theatre was filled to the capacity and the audience enjoyed immensely the fusion of Indian traditional dance forms with modern western movements, which is the specialization of Jannat Performing Arts.

The dignitaries present were H.E. Mr. Vikas Swarup, High Commissioner of India to Canada, H.E. Mr. Mizanur Rehman, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Canada and Member of Parliament Mr. Chandra Arya. H.E. Mr. Vikas Swarup spoke about the influence of Bollywood being felt in almost all the countries of the world and congratulated Jannat Performing Arts for showcasing fusion of Indian Bollywood and classical dances with the western dance styles.

All proceeds were donated to the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre.
