PUBLIC NOTICE
FOR INDIAN PASSPORT HOLDERS

1. Members of public are advised that Government of India have introduced certain changes in the procedure for reissue/ renewal of Indian Passports.

2. Police Verification from India for the address(es) the applicant has stayed at earlier is now mandatory for all such applications and the passport will be processed only after the Police Verification Report from India is completed.

3. Due to the Police Verification Report being made mandatory for renewal/ reissue of passport, passport holders seeking renewal/ reissue services should keep sufficient margin of time while seeking these services.

4. Henceforth, the normal time now for reissue/ renewal of passport will be 15 days, over and above the time it takes for receipt of Police Verification Report from India.

5. Passport holders are hereby advised to note the above additional time requirement while making request for renewal/ reissue. They are also advised that application for renewal/ reissue of passport can be submitted any time while the remaining validity of the existing passport is less than 1 year.
